On April 13th 2010, Dr. Larry Patterson Traveled to Boston, Massachusetts to serve as chief judge at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Film Festival. For three days he joined eight other ophthalmologists to view over 160 film submissions from around the globe. During these "Academy Awards" of ophthalmology, films are judged based on criteria such as educational value, accuracy,and artistic quality.
The mission of the ASCRS is to help expand the science of ophthalmic surgery and the knowledge of ophthalmic surgeons, all while working with others in the medical field as well as the federal government to deliver quality eye care to patients.
