ECOTN is pleased to introduce a new Doctor to our practice. John L. Stone M.D. will be joining the ECOTN organization on July 6th, 2010.  Dr. Stone is a specialist in the field of advanced disorders of the retina, vitreous, and macula.  Having a resident Retina Specialist will mean patients will be able to get the kind of care that was previously only available to those who could travel, or wait several weeks for an appointment.  “Having a retina specialist available in our office can open up a whole new world of possibilities for us. Not only will it greatly reduce travel time for our patients, but the expert advice of a specialist in this field will always be a room away” states Larry Patterson M.D.

ECOTN will also be extending our range of technological equipment to accommodate Dr. Stone in testing and procedures such as Optical Coherence Tomography, Avastin and Lucentis injections, as well as laser treatments and photodynamic therapy.

Our goal in this endeavor is to enhance patient convenience while extending the greatest possible care to the patient.  With a retina specialist at hand, along with an ophthalmologist and resident optometrist, ECOTN will be able to help patients with a variety of services from routine eye exams, to the treatment of advanced diseases.

John L. Stone M.D. earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983 before attending the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts.  Dr. Stone went on to earn his postgraduate degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA in 1993.
