Dr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in microbiology in 2004. He is a 2008 graduate of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a doctorate of optometry.

Dr. Smith completed an optometric externship at Ducklo Eyecare in Nashville, Tennessee where he was involved in family practice optometry with an emphasis on specialty contact lenses. He also completed an optometric externship at Campbell, Cunningham, and Taylor in Knoxville, Tennessee where he received specialty training in ocular disease/geriatrics and in pre and post-operative management of cataract and refractive surgery. 

Dr. Smith is a lifelong resident of Jamestown, Tennessee and is pleased to be returning home to practice optometry. He is an avid fan of Tennessee Volunteer football and basketball and also enjoys spending time fishing, hunting, and learning to play golf.
